How to Remove Kaspersky Password

In case you forgets the password that you set for your Kaspersky product (Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10), which can prevent you from changing settings. You can remove the password using these following instructions:

  1. Boot to safe mode
  2. Open Registry Editor (start > run > regedit.exe)
  3. For 32 bit user (x86) navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KasperskyLab\protected\KES10\settings
    For 64 bit user (x64) navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\KasperskyLab\KES10\settings
  4. Double click on EnablePswrdProtect and change the value to 0
  5. Double click on OPEP and delete the value
  6. Restart your computer

    I have gone through the info above and done just the same but the system still asks for password for Kaspersky 10.Am using windows8.1

      Make sure you’re doing it in safe mode and also make sure that your system doesn’t implement any kind of preventive action which roll-back any unauthorized changes.

    Fantastic! Worked like a charm to remove Kaspersky Endpoint 10 without a password. Kaspersky was of absolutely no help. Both with chat and a phone call. Ronald Santo, you saved me a lot of time.

    what if i change the value again to 1??
    will the parental controls will be activated??

    When I restart back in normal mode after changing the password gets re-enabled. Can you please help me out?

      Hi, please make sure you’re using the same major version as this guide describe (Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10, stand alone edition)

      Another thing, also please make sure there are no auto rollback system in place such as Deep Freeze, Reboot Restore, Windows SteadyState and other similar system

    Doesn’t work, says “Kaspersky security center policy is applied to the computer”
